I did this drawing for the final issue of Hellbound, The Boston Comics Horror Anthology. It's printed in beautiful two-color risograph — way cooler looking than this digital preview! Look for the book in better Boston-area comics shops!

MeCAF Recap 2014

Well, it was another fun year exhibiting with Bob Flynn at the Maine Comics Arts Festival! The event was held in a new space this year, but still featured windows, which are much appreciated!

Bob drew up some wonderfully weird monsters, along with his most famous creation: Catbug!

My favorite monster that I drew was this "Lexicon Monster" for Cara Bean!

One young kid requested a drawing of The Grim Reaper. I tried to make him look as friendly as possible. I can't help it!

I got to see lots of great people at the show. Here's Ryan Mita, showing off his copy of Bob's latest comic, reset. I hope to see you there next year!

Monsters in the House!

Along with Roho and Bob Flynn, I edited an anthology of monster comics for kids called "GULP!" The book will debut at MICE on September 28th. I also drew a comic for the book, and I'm excited to see how it comes out. It is being risograph-printed in blue and orange, so the actual results may be somewhat surprising! More details to come, but here's a preview:

MeCAF ReCAP 2013

MeCAF was a blast once again this year! I loved meeting everyone who came out to the show and drawing lots and lots of monsters!

A Boston monster for José-Luis Olivares

These nice people requested "a one-armed monster who is depressed, but with a glimmer of hope."
Who can't relate to that?

And I got a request for a half-Chewbacca, half-vampire:

I also got myself a new fake ID from an enterprising young man at the show. I haven't tested it out to see if it works in Massachusettes yet.

Moira Swiatkowski snapped a good shot of us. Bob looks alert and ready for action, but I look a little out of it. I think I am actually in the midst of imagining my next monster to draw as I uncap a marker!
