Lefty Monster vs Righty Monster

Starting to get my right-handed drawing back, but mostly still going lefty. So here is Lefty Monster vs Righty Monster. Who will win?

Society of Illustrators: Comic and Cartoon Art

The Society of Illustrators’ Comic and Cartoon Art Annual features an excerpt from my Mini Monsters minicomic. I’m excited to be attending the opening reception on Friday night. Check it out if you’re in the neighborhood!

Broken Bones and Lefty Doodles

So a few weeks back I took a spill while skateboarding and broke a bone in my hand.

But while my right hand is out of commission, I have been working on my lefty drawing skills!

NESCBWI 2015!

I had a blast at the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators' New England conference this past weekend. I got to lead a workshop called "Spark New Ideas with Drawing Games." Participants created collaborative, improvisational characters and stories, while I stood over them cracking the whip!

At the end, some brave illustrators stood up and read their stories. That's Greg Matusic reading on the right, and me on the left. Thanks to Teri Weidner for the photo.

And I gave everyone this handout:

Riding into the sun

New Critter at the Zoo

Outside Your Window

PodBot vs The Ghost Dinosaurs

This was my latest assignment for the Hartford Art School MFA. It's a reaction to our trip to NYC last November.

Illustration Class

I’m teaching an illustration class starting later this month. Who wants to join in? www.arlingtoncommunityed.org
