Also, MICE was a blast!

It was another fun year at MICE with Bob Flynn.

I was very happy to get to compete in Iron Cartoonist this year. Here's Cathy and I with the "Garfield being wrongfully accused of jaywalking" drawing that brought me to victory!

I love cartoonists.

I was also interviewed by Alistair Book!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This was actually a Christmas card I made for Cathy a few years back. (Not going to reveal today's card online for a while!)

Butters in "Sahara Sands"

We got Butters back in January, and I finally drew a comic about him. Sorry for the delay!

We need some color on this blog!

and CATS. This is Butters.

Cathy gets her cast off on Wednesday!

Two more weeks of sketchbook doodles to come. And, I hope, some news before the end of the month.

Meanwhile . . .

Cathy and her birds will be at the Chestnut Hill Mall this weekend.
No - not shopping! It's an art sale at the mall!
She will be selling her birds, nests, eggs, and sprouts.

By the way, did you notice that Cathy's new hairdo looks like one of her birds?

Here's Jonathan Richman again. His hair looks a bit like a bird, too, in this picture.

Ten years ago

Well, I don't remember the exact date, but January 2000 was when Cathy and I met, registering for classes at MassArt. So The Zeroes were pretty good!

I'm still working on it . . .

I'll share more later . . . promise!
The whole thing is drawn and scanned, but now I'm cleaning up the scans, which takes a long time.

A Brookline Comic

This comic is based on a very hot day from last summer, before Cathy & I moved to Brookline, but we came and took a walk right along the border of Brookline and Boston. The idea for the story came to me then, and I thought it was funny, but much too ridiculous to actually draw. A year later, I still couldn't get it out of my head, so here it is!

And here's the soundtrack, which starts midway through page two:

Photos from Sherman Cafe

It was a fun time last Sunday night. Thanks to everyone who came and everyone who sent well wishes!
There's Abby and my sister Julie with a book I put together of all my Nick Mag comics. They both helped out a lot, and Julie's chocolate-covered blueberries were the hit of the show.

That's me with my very kind wife Cathy!

And that's my Mom - Hi Mom! No good picture of Dad, unfortunately, but they both helped out a lot, too.

Here's Jack, teaching me how to relax while standing up.

And here's my best piece in the show: a Godzilla and friends (and enemies) plate that I made in 1982, brought by Mom.

Maybe instead we'll ride bikes out to the country. . .

But where is The Country anyway? How do we get there?
